Om Malik, the man who would be Bond’s next villain has a great article about Google attempting to turn widgets into ads and it’s inherent dangers.

’I give you voice over internet protocol Mr. Bond ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha…. (strokes pussy), ha, ha, ha, ha…’

‘The 200 most successful websites on the web, ordered by category, proximity, success, popularity and perspective.’ (via Information Architects.

Ah, I love maps and I love the web and I hate the Underground… well 2 out of 3 ain’t bad - there is an informed elegance to this map which also serves as a great resource and reference for the modern web landscape. It’s also worth looking at the company that created this, Information Architects led by Oliver Reichenstein they are based in Tokyo and seem intent to elevate brand and interface to mystical heights, from the site:
‘The Ideal Website is designed to fit Fibonacci’s Golden Section - otherwise known as the divine proportions. These measurements are said to be the most pleasing to the eye, and have been widely used for everything from judging beauty of a face, to the design of bank notes.’
If I’d read this, then looked at the site, I’d be like, ‘what?’ but having looked at the site and then read this and not knowing my Fibonacci from my Fibea, I understand what they’re getting at, perhaps this is the ideal website?.
Answers on a postcard please.

(via Boing Boing) There is a crass and banal simplicity to this pizza delivery service out of Winnipeg, which combines pizza with a side helping of porn, but look a little closer and it’s close to marketing genius, there’s no gimmick, the title says it all, the delivery cars have illuminated Porno Pizza lights so the whole neighbourhood knows you’ve opted for the Climax (all the toppings).

What at first sounds like an eight beer idea, hits a niche, the stay at home onanist.
The site could do with a little graphic love and has way more potential than a simple pizza menu, use the graphic simplicity of the Emmanuelle poster as your style guide:
… get them horny and make them hungry for more. Mr Porno Pizza, I salute you, you could be Pizza 2.0 (unless Tim O’Reilly already patented the phrase!) with a little imagination and a lot of creative input. Surely your given market are guys who spend all their time in front of their Mac flicking between Digg and Pornotube? Tempt them, get them to open their wallets, silicon enhanced girls with photoshop’d sticky tape over their eyes ain’t exactly stimulating….
…and just what the hell is a ‘Manage a trois’ ? Is it French corporate team building?

The 2 minute critique on Pownce momentarily diverted my attention from smashing a magnum of chateau d’open source over this Fat incubator.
